1. Traffic Arrangements during the Event
The popular supporting areas will be very crowded during the event, so we strongly urge teams and their support teams to avoid driving to checkpoints. Instead, you and support teams are highly encouraged to make use of public transport and the shuttle bus service provided by us. Please take a look at the information regarding the traffic arrangements during the event below and share it with your support teams!
i) Start Point (Pak Tam Chung)
Pak Tam Chung Public Carpark will be temporarily suspended starting from 12:01am on 28 November and no parking space will be offered to the public. Participants and the support teams please make use of public transport to the start point.
In addition, to facilitate the event, the following road sections will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic during specified periods (except emergency vehicles and those with permits issued by the Transport Department):
- The section of Sai Kung Man Yee Road from a point about 3.3 kilometres south of its junction with Sai Kung Sai Wan Road to a point about 8.8 kilometres south of the same junction will be closed from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm on 28 November.

ii) Checkpoint 2 (Pak Tam Au)
CP2 (Pak Tam Au) is located in the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department restricted area; all vehicles without a Country Park Permit cannot access it. Support teams are strongly advised to take the public transport. Traffic control will be enforced during the event so parking is also NOT allowed around the CP even for vehicle that has a Country Park Permit. Vehicles violating regulations will be prosecuted or towed away.
iii) Checkpoint 3 (Kei Ling Ha)
Parking and loading / unloading is NOT allowed around the entrance of CP3. Vehicles violating regulations will be prosecuted or towed away. Shui Long Wo carpark (next to CP3) will be temporarily suspended from 10:00pm on 27 November to 8:00am on 29 November. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting or parking there; vehicles will only be allowed to drop off passengers or unload goods.
To avoid affecting the vehicle access of nearby villages, parking is strictly prohibited in the area between Sai Sha Road and Yung Shue O Road. Parking is available at the Sai Sha Road carpark, but spaces are very limited. Cooking or barbecuing is strictly prohibited within the parking lot area.
In addition, the section of Chuk Yeung Road between Shan Liu and Wong Chuk Yeung will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic from 1:00pm on 28 November to 7:00am on 29 November.
iv) Shatin Pass Road
Shatin Pass Road is a popular place for support teams to provide materials and encouragement to teams during the event. However, this has created heavy traffic in the area and parking problems, which has affected walkers and could prevent medical staff from accessing the area should an emergency arise.
As such, traffic will be controlled near MacLehose Trail Distance Post M101, and the section of Shatin Pass Road between Lion’s Pavilion and Kwun Ping Road from 9:00am on 28 November to 4:00pm on 29 November. Parking will also be strictly forbidden during this period; passengers and goods will only be allowed to be dropped off or picked up in a designated zone. Support teams are strongly advised NOT to drive to the aforementioned area.
v) Checkpoint 6 (Smugglers Ridge Rifle Range)
Golden Hill Road will be temporarily closed from 1:00pm on 28 November to 9:00pm on 29 November during the event. Please note that unauthorised vehicles including mountain bikes (except emergency vehicles and those with permits issued by the Transport Department), will not be allowed to enter. Support teams are strongly advised to take public transport to CP6 instead of driving (walk about three kilometres which may take about an hour).

vi) Checkpoint 8 (Tai Mo Shan)

The section of Tai Mo Shan Road east of its junction with Route Twisk will be temporarily closed from 4:00pm on 28 November to 3:00pm on 30 November during the event. Please note that unauthorised vehicles including mountain bikes (except emergency vehicles and those with permits issued by the Transport Department), will not be allowed to enter. Support teams are strongly advised to take public transport to CP8 instead of driving.
