Regarding the Oxfam Trailwalker 2024 fundraising event during 15th to 17th November 2024, Oxfam Hong Kong has been closely monitoring the weather conditions and arranging accordingly. The Hong Kong Observatory has changed the typhoon signal to No. 3 at 10:20 AM on 14th November and predicted that the Tropical Cyclone Toraji will be weaken and move away from Hong Kong. After considering and balancing various factors, we have decided that the Oxfam Trailwalker 2024 will be proceeded as scheduled. Due to the possibility of unstable weather conditions in the coming days, we remind all participants to pay attention to the following weather arrangements.
Arrangements for Adverse Weather or Extreme Situations
Event Day (November 15th) at 5:00 AM:
l If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or a Black Rainstorm Warning is in effect, the event will be cancelled. The announcement will be posted on the event's Facebook page (www.facebook.com/oxfamtrailwalkerhk) and other channels.
l If extreme weather conditions arise at any time, the organiser will make decisions based on safety considerations and will inform participants and the public as soon as possible.
We remind all participants to closely monitor the latest weather reports from the Hong Kong Observatory before departure and during the event, to remain vigilant throughout the activity, prioritize safety, and enhance their equipment and support. All participants are advised to download and activate the HKSOS app to ensure their safety and follow the correct route. At the same time, we will remain vigilant to changes in the weather and make corresponding arrangements based on the weather conditions.
