1.     Registration and Start Time at Start Point

In order to ensure the event runs smoothly, there will be five start times as per the table below. Team should pay attention to the registration time and venue:

All teams MUST start at the designated times listed above according to their respective team numbers and register at the Start Point at least 30 - 45 minutes before starting. No team is allowed to change its registration and start time without the prior approval of the Organiser.

2.     Route of Oxfam Trailwalker 2024 (100KM and 40th Anniversary Edition events)

Route of 100KM event (Time Limit: 48 hours)

The route starts in Pak Tam Chung at Sai Kung, and covers sections 1 to 9 of the MacLehose Trail, which is about 87 km (M001-M174). Before passing distance post M175, it leaves the MacLehose Trail and follows the Yuen Tsuen Ancient Trail all the way to Tai Tong Barbecue Site. The route then turns left onto the Tai Lam Nature Track and makes its way back to the MacLehose Trail, where it runs from distance post M178 to M193. It then finally passes through Tsing Ying Road and ends at Harrow International School Hong Kong, Tuen Mun.

The Oxfam Trailwalker trail is not identical to the MacLehose Trail, please note the following:

From M031 pass through Sai Wan beach to M033

From M153 along Tai Mo Shan Road (takes the old MacLehose Trail) to Route Twisk

Section 10 M174 – M200

Before passing distance post M175, it leaves the MacLehose Trail and follows the Yuen Tsuen Ancient Trail all the way to Tai Tong Barbecue Site. The route then turns left onto the Tai Lam Nature Trail and makes its way back to the MacLehose Trail, where it runs from distance post M178 to M193. It then finally passes through Tsing Ying Road and ends at Harrow International School Hong Kong

Route of 40th Anniversary Edition event (Time Limit: 20 hours)

The route starts in Pak Tam Chung at Sai Kung, and ends at Gilwell Campsite. The length of the route is around 47.5KM. The Organiser will provide free shuttle bus service for the participants who completed the 40th Anniversary Edition event, which will run between Gilwell Campsite and MTR Diamond Hill Station (To be confirmed). Please pay attention to our further announcements later. Please note that as the way to Gilwell Campsite is very narrow, traffic control will be implemented during the event. Hence, supporting teams are strictly prohibited from driving to the above section.

3.     (Important) Submission of Particulars of Confirmed Team Members and Reminder on Change of Team Member

Please be reminded that you can change any team member for free before 6pm on 15 October by logging in to the Team Page. Fee will be applied for any change of team member made after the abovementioned period. Please refer to the following for details.

Notes for change of team member

1. In the interest of fairness, team leaders in the Open Team Category (via ballot) CANNOT be changed. Changing the team leader will result in the disqualification of the whole team.

2. The change of member fee is non-refundable. It cannot be regarded as a donation and is not tax-deductible.

3. The Oxfam Trailwalker is a challenging team event. Participants are strongly recommended to allow adequate time for training and team building before the event. Please avoid changing team members in the month before the event. Changing team members at the start of the event is also not advised.

-       Fill in the change of team member form (can be downloaded via Oxfam Trailwalker website later) and submit it with payment record to Oxfam Hong Kong by email

Late Change of Team Member Phase II

HK$500 (per member)

1 November to 15 November (Event Day)

1 November to 8 November at 6pm

-       Login to the Team Page for changing team member(s) and pay the late change fee by credit card

-       Fill in the change of team member form (can be downloaded via Oxfam Trailwalker website later) and submit it with payment record to Oxfam Hong Kong by email

After 8 November, all change requests will be handled on the Event Day. Fill in the change of team member form and pay the fee in case at the Registration Hall, Start Point

4.     Information Pack and Rules and Regulations of the Event

Most of the registered teams have collected the information pack and 4 pieces of tees between 19 to 22 September. If your team has not yet collected the information, please contact us by sending an email to otwinfo@oxfam.org.hk

Please be reminded that participants of Oxfam Trailwalker 2024 should follow the rules and the on-site arrangements set by the Organiser for the event. Teams are strongly advised to go through the rules and regulations before the start of the event.
