Oxfam Trailwalker 2024 Adverse Weather or Extreme Conditions Arrangements
11 Nov 2024

According to the Observatory's forecast, Tropical Cyclone Toraji is approaching Hong Kong, raising the possibility of unstable weather this week, which may necessitate the issuance of a tropical cyclone warning signal. Regarding the annual Oxfam Trailwalker 2024 fundraising event scheduled for November 15th to 17th, Oxfam Hong Kong is closely monitoring the latest information from the Observatory. The safety of participants and working personnel is our top priority, and we will issue announcements on November 14th (Thursday) regarding any potential impact of weather changes on the event.

Arrangements for Adverse Weather or Extreme Situations

Event Day (November 15th) at 5:00 AM:

  • If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or a Black Rainstorm Warning is in effect, the event will be cancelled. The announcement will be posted on the event's Facebook page (Oxfam Trailwalker HK) and other channels.
  • If extreme weather conditions arise at any time, the organiser will make decisions based on safety considerations and will inform participants and the public as soon as possible.

We are currently in the final stages of preparation and remain vigilant to weather changes, making necessary arrangements for any adverse conditions.
