Thank YOU for making Oxfam Trailwalker 2017 a great success!
Dear Oxfam Trailwalker,
Oxfam Trailwalker 2017 was successfully concluded on 19 November! Congratulations and great thanks to you, your teammates and support team members who have taken part in the event! Your every effort contributed to the success of this large-scale event which helps raise fund to improve the livelihood of the disadvantaged!
This year, 4,948 walkers (1,243 teams) set out from the Start Point in Pak Tam Chung at 5 starts! Finally 4,308 walkers overcame the challenge of 23 hills and completed the 100km trail within the time limit of 48 hours, representing 87% of all walkers. It was encouraging that 881 teams reached the Finish Point at Yuen Long in full teams of four members, which is about 71% of the total number of teams. Congratulations to everyone!
The first team was “8003 – AWOO Team Nepal”, finishing in 12 hours 01 minutes. 50 minutes later, “8016 – 美女與猛獸s – Beauty and the Beasts” finishing in 12 hours 51 minutes, and “8026 – Hong Kong Sports Clinic x Salomon”, finishing in 13 hours 26 minutes respectively. Congratulations to them for the extraordinary results! Please check other teams’ rankings on the Oxfam Trailwalker website.
Oxfam Trailwalker 2017 could only succeed with the dedication from everyone involved. We hope you have felt the care and support throughout the event – from your teammates, your support team, your sponsors, other walkers, more than 3,000 volunteers, more than 40 sponsors and supporting organisations, and from Oxfam staff members too! This year, we would like to especially thank support teams for minimizing the use of vehicles along the Trail contributing to better traffic flow and less inconvenience caused for people in the vicinity and other road users.
Every year, no matter what are difficulties and obstacles along the 100km trail for trailwalkers, team work and encouragements from CP volunteers and support teams are always playing the key roles to overcome all the challenges with the spirit of “We are Trailwalkers”.
