Oxfam Trailwalker 2019 – Confirmation of Registration

Congratulations for successfully registering a team at Oxfam Trailwalker (OTW) this year! We would like to express our gratitude to you and your teammates for raising funds to support Oxfam’s poverty alleviation and emergency relief projects. Special thanks also go to our key sponsors, AIA Vitality, Asia Miles, CLP Power Hong Kong Limited, PCCW & HKT and other sponsors/supporting organisations for providing their invaluable support to Oxfam Hong Kong again this year.

To prepare your team better for the event, please pay special attention to the following information:

1. Briefing Sessions

Oxfam Hong Kong will organize 3 briefings for walkers this year. Experienced walkers, physiotherapists and other specialists are invited to share their valuable experience as well as to provide useful hints, safety guidelines, finish point arrangements and other related information at the briefings. All walkers and support team members are welcome to join, even experienced walkers to have more details of various new arrangements. We strongly advise all first-time walkers and their support team members to attend the briefing session. Please fill in your information in “Reply Slip” and send it to us by 8 August to reserve your seats.

  1. Collection of OTW Event Information and Souvenirs

    Please note that teams having paid the registration fee are welcome to collect the Event information and Souvenirs. All materials could be collected in 3 parts i) Printed Materials, ii) Coupon Booklet and iii) OTW Quick Dry T-shirts and souvenirs. Please see the details below included collecting period, location and details.

Coupon Booklet
Lots of Outdoor equipment brand support OTW, in providing special offer to purchase gear.
Start from 26 August Each registered team will have maximum 5 coupon booklets (included 1 pc for support team leader). Team members could collect at Oxfam Office or by authorised person.

Teams must show a) Team number and b) Team leader name for confirmation when collecting.

All registered teams will have 4 sets of OTW cutlery sets, OTW Quick Dry T-shirts which are sponsored by Columbia and AIA souvenirs.

We encourage all participants to protect our environment. CP7 – Lead Mine Pass will stop to dispatch disposal cutlery. All participants must bring their own cutlery for cup noodles. Therefore, we hope this cutlery help walkers to reduce disposal items in daily life.

Registered teams can collect souvenirs in person or authorised person. Please show or provided a) team number and b) Team leader name for confirmation.

HKID copy or photo (by mobile phone) must be showed when collect by authorised person for confirmation.

  1. Collection of Sponsorship and Withdrawal

    All teams (including those teams which are absent / withdraw on the event day) must raise a minimum
    sponsorship of HK$7,600, except for Pledge Teams, which must raise at least HK$72,000. Oxfam Hong Kong
    reserves the right not to accept applications for future Oxfam Trailwalker events from any member of a team
    who has failed to raise the minimum amount. Registered teams wishing to withdraw from the event must give written notice to the Organiser before 26 August, 2019. This will allow wait-listed teams to take up the vacated places. Please note the following for withdrawal:

*Oxfam Hong Kong reserves the right not to accept applications for future Oxfam Trailwalker events from any member of a team who has failed to comply with the above stipulations.

4. Change of Team Member

In the interest of fairness, team leaders in the Open Team Category CANNOT be changed. Changing your team leader will result in the disqualification of the whole team. However, you can change your team member(s) during the following periods:

9-15 November From 9 November to event day, all change requests will be handled on the day of the event.
Fill in the Change of Team Member Form and pay the fee in cash at the start hall.

* The change of member fee is non-refundable. It cannot be regarded as donation and is not tax-deductible. Oxfam Trailwalker is a challenging team event. Participants are strongly recommended to allow adequate time for training and team-building before the event. Please avoid changing team members in the last month before the event. Changing team members at the start of the event is also not advised. Change of Team Member Form can be downloaded at our website.

5. Souvenirs (ready from September)

Souvenirs available for sale include OTW Quick Dry T-shirts sponsored by Columbia, our Official Apparel and OTW Stainless Steel Water Bottle, Wristlet, Headband sponsored by PROTREK, our Official Outdoor Shop. Also, you can choose from a wide range of souvenirs including stainless steel cup, cutlery set, tote bag, metal pin and Multi Function Knife. All items will be available at Oxfam’s office or Oxfam Shop as below.
